Assisted suicide
Paul Lamb and Jane Nicklinson have lost their appeal to change the law on assisted suicide, which remains illegal in the UK.
However, they and their campaigners are hopeful that the decision will encourage Parliament to review the legislation, which two of the Judges supported.
Advance decisions (otherwise known as Living Wills) remain a legally valid way of stating your wish to refuse medical treatment if you are unable to communicate this yourself.’
