Care fees allowance unchanged for 9th year
If you require long term care, you will have to pay your care fees in full (in England) if your capital is more than £23,250. The Government has just announced that this allowance is going to remain the same for 2019/2020 – the same level it has been at since 2010/2011!
When looking at care fees, there are detailed rules on what a local authority can and cannot take into account when assessing your capital, in order to calculate what you must pay towards the cost of your long term care. For advice, please contact us.
