Catherine Abbott

Catherine is a solicitor and partner in our Property Team specialising in commercial property with a particular interest and a wealth of experience in rural and agricultural property.

Catherine joins us from a regional firm, where she was a partner for five years. Prior to that, Catherine was a partner at a local firm for many years where she built her experience and expertise in property matters.

Catherine works hard to ensure that her clients’ transactions move to completion smoothly and efficiently, enjoying unlocking problems for them along the way. Catherine strives to understand her clients’ needs, their business, why a deal is important to them and likes to build long term relationships.

• Sales and purchases of land and buildings
• Landlord and tenant matters including leases and farm business tenancies
• Development matters
• Conditional contracts, overage agreements and option agreements
• Unregistered land
• Working with landowners on infrastructure projects
• Acting for clients and lenders on refinancing
• Corporate support working with the corporate and commercial team in relation to the property aspects of share sales and asset sales

Outside of work, Catherine enjoys the great outdoors and will take every opportunity to get out and about at one of the local RSPB or Suffolk Wildlife Trust reserves.
