Our charity cricket tournament

Nicola Furmston

Martlesham Heath was the location of the recent spectacular Barker Gotelee Kwik Cricket tournament where players of all abilities gathered to be crowned champions and take home the title trophy.

Eager players and many spectators came together at the cricket pavilion and those taking part in the action were divided in to teams to take on the annual challenge. Each team was then pitted against each other with a mix of batting and bowling triumphs and catastrophes.

The winning team

The triumphant winning team proudly collected the trophy following a delicious hog roast which allowed competitors to come together to congratulate and commiserate each other as well as giving the opportunity for some informal networking.

During the evening, donations were collected for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) and all at Barker Gotelee would like to thank those who donated for supporting the charity.
