Family Solicitors Suffolk – Considering adoption? New resources available

“The Department for Education has launched a new information line for people considering adoption. They aim to help people navigate through the process of adopting a child and have also created a map guide showing the number of children in each local authority waiting for a family to adopt them. The map is accessible here. In our local area Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex all have 48+ children waiting to be adopted.

This map is only a simple example and obviously does not show the ever changing circumstances of children in local authority care. However it is evidence enough that many children up and down the country are waiting for a new family environment where they can be nurtured and encouraged to grow up and become valuable members of society. This new information line is a welcome step by the government to help facilitate those who are considering adoption as the right decision for their family. The new adoption information line is 0300 222 0022.”
