Coronavirus lease forfeiture legislation extended further

Earlier in the year we reported on the moratorium introduced by s.82 of the Coronavirus Act 2020 prohibiting commercial landlords from exercising their right to forfeit leases for non-payment of rent. This has been extended further and now runs until 31 March 2021 meaning the provisions will have been in place for a year.

Similar measures have been put in place to extend the restrictions on landlords recovering unpaid rent by the exercise of commercial rent arrears recovery.
