Family Solicitors Ipswich – US boy jailed for killing his father

Nicola Furmston Cropped

‘In an incredibly sad incident a US boy of 10 has been jailed for killing his father. Police reported that the child had become distraught over the fact that he thought he would have to choose between living with his father and step-mother when they separated. He hoped to prevent the couple from separating and his emotions over-whelmed him. Whilst the report also stated that the child had suffered from an abusive environment and had both emotional and learning disabilities it is a salutary lesson as to the extremes of emotion children can feel when their lives are changing at an uncontrollable pace. Children whose parents are separating need both parents to keep their emotions in check and not lose sight of the bigger picture. Solicitors specialising in this work, who are members of Resolution (www.resolution.org.uk), sign up to a code of good conduct in their work and aim to minimise the impact of parental disputes on children’.
