Collaborative Law

Our family law team have extensive experience in dealing with the many legal issues that can affect families. However complex or sensitive your situation may feel, we will work with you to find a practical and positive solution that meets the needs of you and your family.
Collaborative law offers an alternative to court proceedings, allowing separating couples to work together to reach agreements about finances, property and children. Each party appoints their own collaboratively trained solicitor, and discussions take place over a series of structured meetings.
This approach encourages open communication and cooperation, helping couples find constructive solutions that are often less stressful, quicker and more cost effective than traditional litigation. Distance between the clients and their lawyers is also not a bar to a collaborative approach as it can take place on an online platform. It is also possible to bring third parties, such as financial advisers and family consultants into the process to provide advice and support where needed.
