Pricing Information
Typically, a guilty plea at the local magistrates’ court will cost £850 -£1,100 plus VAT and this is largely dependent on waiting time at court.
On a not guilty plea, the costs are more likely to be in the region of £3,250 to £7,750 plus VAT depending on factors such as the number of witnesses and the need for expert evidence such as accident reconstruction experts or engineering evidence.
Whereas a guilty plea will normally be dealt with at the earliest opportunity after a summons is served, within no more than 6 weeks of the summons, a not guilty plea can take 6 to 9 months or more depending on complexity.
