Increase the value of property by renaming your home for just £40
“A rose by any other name would smell as sweet” once wrote Shakespeare. However, according to an article by The Daily Telegraph, renaming your home could increase its value by thousands of pounds.
A survey by onthemarket.com found that renaming your home with a regal name can add up to £30,000 and a Suffolk homeowner did just that, renaming his property from “Esher Cottage” to “Crown Cottage” and even altering the name of the lane to match!
A report by HomeTrack found that homes on a “lane” rather than a “street” sell for up to £100,000 more.
There are regulations in place (nothing offensive or that advertises a business) and of course you can’t simply steal your neighbour’s address, but changes can be very quick if accepted.
