Miles is an associate solicitor in the property team, specialising in agricultural land and other commercial property. After reading law at the University of Oxford, Miles trained and qualified at Herbert Smith Freehills in the City of London. He returned home to East Anglia in 2016 to specialise in agricultural law at another leading regional firm, before joining Barker Gotelee in June 2018.
Miles advises on a range of agricultural and commercial property matters, including sales and purchases, refinancing, landlord and tenant issues (including 1986 Act agricultural tenancies and commercial property leases), and overage and other development agreements.
Miles’s recent instructions include acting on the sale of a 676-acre farming estate in East Anglia, which included a mansion house, estate properties and arable land. Miles aims to deliver clear, practical advice on all matters, whether large or small, and focusses on finding commercial solutions that will best serve his clients’ needs, now and in the future.
Miles says: “My legal practice reflects my passion for the countryside and rural affairs, and my belief in building lasting relationships with clients and their other professional advisers, in order to support them in all of their business and personal affairs.”
Miles is a Steward at the Tendring Show and a keen horse-rider in his spare time.
