Agricultural Solicitors Ipswich – New GM crops law u-turn

“Is the tide finally starting to turn in favour of GM crops? For years, the anti-GM movement, supported by hysterical headlines in the tabloid press (Frankenstein foods etc.) has succeeded in turning public opinion against GM technology. Last week, at the Oxford Farming Conference, Mark Lynas, a leading member of the anti-GM movement, apologised for having spent several years ripping up GM crops and admitted that his views on GM were entirely wrong. It will be interesting to see whether other anti-GM activists are prepared to change their views and throw their support behind a technology which is helping huge numbers of farmers around the world to produce the food that will be required to sustain a rapidly growing population.”
