‘The Chancellor, George Osborne has announced plans to aid growth in the housing market by launching a ‘Help to Buy’ scheme. The aim of the scheme is to support potential home buyers who have at least a 5% deposit. It has been suggested that £3.5 billion of capital spending will be used to fund this scheme. It remains to be seen whether this Government initiative has the desired effect of boosting the economy.’
