Remembrance Service at Martlesham Heath

On Sunday 8th November, a Remembrance Service was held in front of the three memorials at Barrack Square, Martlesham Heath – the only three memorials together in the country.

This annual event was hosted by the Martlesham Heath Aviation Society of which Richard Barker is the president. Many organisations take part and lay wreaths and Richard lays a wreath on behalf of the business community in Martlesham.

Richard, who is also Practising Consultant at Barker Gotelee, said:

“I was honoured to be invited to be the President of the Martlesham Heath Aviation Society.  The memorials pay tribute to the remarkable history of Martlesham Heath which was the foremost research centre for aircraft for nearly forty years.  Research continues in many forms from this place, including researching into legal issues.

On Remembrance Sunday, we were once again joined by over three hundred people who paid their respects and honoured the sacrifices made.”
