Sam joined Barker Gotelee in 2015 as a paralegal and completed his training contract in June 2018. He qualified as a solicitor in July 2018 having accumulated approximately three years’ of experience primarily in property law. Sam graduated from the University of Essex with a 2:1 in the LLB Law degree in 2015 and achieved a commendation in the graduate post-diploma Legal Practice Course which he studied in Cambridge.
Sam has developed particular experience and interest in agricultural law and property including advising individual and corporate clients on and drafting agricultural tenancies, farm business tenancies and partnership agreements. He has also dealt with a variety of agricultural land and estate transactions and has been involved in renewable energy projects and option and promotion agreements for development affecting agricultural land.
Sam also deals with many aspects of commercial property work including advising landlords and tenants on leases and commercial property transactions.
“Land and business owners are facing more and more challenges in today’s fluid economy and we must all be very aware of change. In my mind, my job is done, not just at my desk but out with my clients in their environments where I can better get to know them and their businesses. I strongly believe in building and maintaining lasting relationships with my clients so they know they can come to me with any problem, big or small.”
“Sam has been brilliant from start to finish and corresponded with us at every step and in a timely fashion. We have no doubt that had we not instructed the help of your services we would not have achieved the satisfactory conclusion that we did.”
“Through all of this Sam was intelligent, very knowledgeable, honest, polite and frankly just an all-round smashing fellow. I trusted him and hence, Barker Gotelee, completely.”
In his spare time, Sam is an avid gym-goer and a keen golfer at Felixstowe Ferry Golf Club where he has (and is trying to maintain) a handicap of 10.
