Success for Barker Gotelee once again in the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners annual law firm rankings
Barker Gotelee is delighted to announce that the firm has once again been ranked by the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners across a number of areas.
Private Client again featured in the top band ranking in the Legal 500 for Personal Tax, Trusts and Probate, with several members of the team receiving praise from the extensive research carried out by the Legal 500. The feedback stated that “‘Clients praise the firm’s ‘responsiveness, empathy and clarity of advice‘” and “‘it is clear that nothing is too much for Barker Gotelee to do in the pursuit of their client’s benefit‘.” Solicitor Ann-Marie Matthews was picked out for the Rising Star category with testimonials including: “‘Ann-Marie Matthews is diligent, punctual, extremely good at explaining complex concepts to those with little or no knowledge, and very personable. Her knowledge of the financial side of clients’ affairs is exceptional.‘” Probate and Trust Manager Peter Gooch also received praise, with one interviewee stating: “‘From the first introductory phone call I felt confident in placing my trust in Peter Gooch – he was supportive, efficient, informative, reassuring and competent.'”
In the Legal 500 Agriculture & Estates category Barker Gotelee ranked in Band 2 with Legal 500 stating “Barker Gotelee has extensive experience in dealing with substantial transactions for farmers and landowners across the country.” Likewise featuring in Chambers & Partners Band 2 for Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Chambers states that “the team is always very efficient and gives good advice”, whilst Notable Practitioner Andrew Nicholson “is very grounded and gives well thought-out advice“.
The increased strength and breadth of Barker Gotelee’s Commercial Property team is reflected in their second ranking in the Legal 500, with key lawyers, Christopher Green, Luke Cain and Miles Coates, Fenella Eddell and Sam Read all receiving mentions.
Working within the Business Services department, Barker Gotelee’s Insolvency team has consistently achieved high rankings and praise in the Legal 500 and this year continues that trend with team head John Bradshaw once again receiving Leading Individual status and the team as a whole being ranked in Band 2. According to Legal 500, “‘The firm has good in-depth knowledge of insolvency. John Bradshaw knows his stuff. He is commercial and practical, which is half the battle.'” Also achieving a Band 1 ranking in Chambers & Partners, Chambers describes John as “a real specialist in his area … regarded by sources as a very good solicitor who is very down to earth and very good with clients.”
