Personal Solicitor Ipswich – British couple lose £600k HMRC case

Mr and Mrs Rumbelow had decided to wind down their business and move to Portugal via Belgium. They argued that they had abandoned the UK as their home.
Unfortunately for them, the tax tribunal ruled against them and decided that they had not taken sufficient steps to detach themselves from the UK.
